Abril Cols, an influencer and owner of the café Balanzen, has reported that a large family stole drinking glasses from her establishment. In a video posted to social media, Cols says the group asked her to take many photos with them when they arrived, ordered and paid for drinks, and sat at several tables.
Cols says that when a waitress went to clear the tables the glasses were gone. She reports that staff told the group the theft had been seen on the café’s cameras, but that members of the family responded rudely. Cols alleges the men hid glasses in their pockets and the women in their handbags, and that staff could see the glasses in pockets.
After seeing that the glasses were not returned, Cols says she photographed the vehicle they left in, recorded the licence plate and plans to file a complaint, adding she expects the plate will be registered and prevent them from being allowed back into the country. She also says that, after sharing the incident online, some family members have accused her of lying in social media comments.
