The Department of Labour has validated the new works council of Menta, the country’s main security group. The elections, held on 7 October with notable turnout, featured a single list representing the Unió Sindical d’Andorra (USdA). If nothing changes, the top-voted candidate from that list, Núria Macia, will chair the labour representation body.
The vote elected representatives for Menta’s security division. Within that division there is a works council for surveillance staff and a staff delegate for the group’s cash management team.
The works council will soon hold its formal constitutive meeting and begin drafting the action plan it intends to pursue. The sector faces various needs and demands, and Menta’s dominance in the market can sometimes produce dysfunctions the council aims to address, while seeking consensus and good relations among all parties.
The works council is made up of seven members with one alternate. In vote order, after Macia the elected members are Miquel Ramírez, Sonia Rodrigues, Alberto Bravo, Illya Kuti, Soraia Pires and Felisenda Oliveira. The alternate is Pedro Remondes. The cash management group’s staff delegate, also confirmed on 7 October, is Hugo Banderinha.
