MoraBanc has been named Bank of the Year 2025 in Andorra by The Banker, part of the Financial Times group. The award was presented at a gala in London, with the magazine’s jury praising the bank’s “excellence of business model,” sustained growth and international expansion.
The Banker highlighted MoraBanc’s leadership and its ability to anticipate market needs, noting the bank’s early adoption of differentiated products and services such as private equity, credit and private debt, digital assets, co‑investment projects, financial planning and ESG investments. The jury also noted that MoraBanc was the first Andorran bank to implement payment systems like Google Pay and Bizum for businesses.
MoraBanc said its international expansion was decisive in winning the prize. Recent moves cited by the group include the acquisition of Banc Europeo de Finanzas, marking entry into the Spanish banking market, and the integration of asset manager Tressis—steps the bank says have strengthened its position in Spanish private banking.
The award follows a strong 2024 performance. MoraBanc reported assets under management up 67% to €18,436 million and net profit up 12% to €57.7 million. Capital metrics were also robust: CET1 solvency stood at 19.5% as of 31 December 2024, the highest in Andorra, and return on equity was 15.04%.
Chairman Joan Maria Nin said the recognition validates the bank’s results and its capacity to compete in demanding markets. CEO Lluís Alsina described the prize as reflecting a clear strategy “to grow, diversify and innovate,” and pledged to continue improving the financial experience for clients.
The Banker accolade adds to recent international recognition: Citywire earlier named MoraBanc the best private banking institution in Andorra.
