Key Points

  • NeuFest runs 13–14 December at Pas de la Casa next to the slopes.
  • Around 40 exhibitors: 14 alpine, 13 freeride, 6 snowboard, 4 freestyle, 2 ski‑mountaineering; on-snow slalom and freestyle test areas.
  • Free entry with prior municipal registration; lift pass required to access test circuits.
  • Weekend programme: DJs, hot broth, torchlight descent (Sat 18:30) and hourly snow‑driving courses to boost local trade.

The Pas de la Casa will host NeuFest on 13 and 14 December, an initiative by the Comú d’Encamp designed to boost activity in the village and take advantage of the start of the winter season. The event will be located next to the slopes and bring together around 40 exhibitors from the snow sector offering on-site equipment tests.

Exhibitors include 14 alpine ski brands, 13 freeride specialists, six snowboard firms, four freestyle labels and two ski-mountaineering companies. Participants will be able to test products in two Grandvalira-equipped areas: a slalom-format course and a freestyle practice zone.

Attendance is free, but prior registration through the municipality’s website is required. A lift pass will be needed to use the equipment and access the test circuits.

The councilor for Finance, Sports and Economic Reactivation, Nino Marot, said the aim is to increase visibility for Pas de la Casa and allow skiers to try different options before buying from local shops. The chosen dates coincide with the season opening and the run-up to Christmas, when businesses typically see higher footfall.

The programme includes DJ sessions throughout the weekend, a hot broth service and a torchlight descent scheduled for Saturday at 18:30. Snow driving courses will be offered every hour.

Local trade representatives welcomed the return of the event, which was last held about a decade ago. Maxime Bony, spokesperson for Pas de la Casa merchants, said NeuFest could help stimulate sales by enabling visitors to learn about brands, test gear at the piste and then make purchases at nearby stores.
