Around 100 people attended the Federació de Golf d’Andorra’s end-of-season gala on Saturday, where the federation reviewed the 2025 season and honoured players, coaches and collaborators. The minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Mònica Bonell, was among those present.

FGA president Gabriel Guerrero highlighted the rise in licences to 582 by the end of November as evidence of a strong year for the sport. He also noted the work with the federation’s high-performance group, which now comprises twelve players, and described the national team’s silver medal at the European Shield in Bulgaria as a historic achievement for Andorran golf.

Minister Bonell praised the federation’s grassroots work, saying its school golf programmes reached more than 2,000 pupils across the country’s three education systems this year. She also emphasised the FGA’s social initiatives with the Fundació Tutelar and the Fundació Nostra Senyora de Meritxell, calling those partnerships essential for growth and inclusion in sport.

Technical recognitions went to Yuseect Monzon for his work on school golf, adaptive golf and programmes for older adults; to Carles Pérez for coaching the high-performance group; and to José Manuel Lara as technical director. The federation also thanked Aravell Golf Andorra and Soldeu Golf Grandvalira for hosting the four events of the 2025 National Circuit, and acknowledged support from sponsors CREAND, Coma Coffee Roster and Engel & Völkers Andorra.

Sporting awards for the Circuit Nacional 2025 events and the season’s overall rankings were presented. Carlos Gosteli was named best senior player, Martí Prats best junior, and Mercè Riera Oriol best female player. In the higher-handicap category Pilar Gutiérrez took first place with Xavier Prats second; in the lower-handicap category Jordi Armengol was first and Carles Serra second. The scratch title went to Imanol Arrillaga.

The gala closed with recognition of the season’s achievements and a renewed commitment from the federation to continue developing participation, performance and inclusion across all levels of the sport.
