The Andorra la Vella town council has received eight bids for the national tender to prepare the design and provide technical direction for the Espai Capital project. Some 46 companies downloaded the tender documents. The envelopes will be opened next week and a judging panel will then be convened to evaluate the proposals.
The council plans to award the contract between mid-January and early February next year. It has estimated the overall cost of the project at €15 million. The planned works have an estimated execution period of 30 months, although the administration has indicated construction could begin in summer with the aim of having the site available for the 2027 fair.
Planned elements of the Espai Capital include a removable 6,000 m² fair hall intended to become the country’s main events venue for economic, social and cultural activities, a public square with underground parking, and the restoration or construction of a new traditional manor house.
