HBO Max has announced renewals for several series, expanding its catalogue with new seasons for some of its most prominent shows.
The drama Task will return for a second season after a strong reception to its debut. Starring Mark Ruffalo, the series was among HBO’s three debut shows with the largest growth. Creator and showrunner Brad Ingelsby thanked the platform for its “unconditional support,” calling it “an incomparable creative home.”
The comedies La empresa de sillas and I Love LA have also been renewed for second seasons. HBO Max said both ranked at the top of the network’s most-watched comedies, averaging 3.3 million and 2 million multiplatform viewers in the United States, respectively.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been greenlit for a second season even though its first season will not arrive until next January. House of the Dragon will return for a third season in the summer of 2026 and for a fourth season in 2028.
Other HBO Max series have also been confirmed to continue. The White Lotus will film its fourth season in France, with production set to begin next year.
