The 12th Caminada Contra el Càncer raised €7,485.70, organisers reported. The total came mainly from sales of the event’s official t-shirts (€6,785.70), with an additional €700 donation from the Fundació Jacqueline Pradère.

About 1,400 people took part in the walk, which covered a 3.7-kilometre route through the streets of Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany on 26 October. Participants — described as a “fuchsia tide” of families, friends and pets — finished at Plaça del Poble, where they were given a cup of hot broth.

The cheque was handed over on 2 December by Octavi Bardera, representing the Fundació Jacqueline Pradère, and Josep Maria Charques of Grup Pyrénées to Josep Saravia, president of Assandca. Tag Systems also contributed to the organisation.

Assandca said the proceeds will be used to support its programmes and services for oncology patients and their families. Saravia thanked the collaborating organisations for their involvement, noting that initiatives like the walk strengthen social support for those living with the disease.
