The Government has approved the award of €19,385.77 in grants to three Andorran organisations as part of international development cooperation projects.
Fundació Ibo will receive €9,000 for the project “Consolidation of the community radio of Ibo” in Mozambique, aimed at strengthening the local radio as a space for dialogue, education and social cohesion and improving community access to essential information on health, education and safety.
Cooperació pel Desenvolupament Local has been granted €8,998 for the project “Transforming grain into a future,” which supports construction of a solar-powered electric mill in Réo, Burkina Faso. The initiative seeks to economically empower local women by creating jobs and reinforcing social and educational actions.
Música per viure will receive €1,387.77 to provide instruments for the project “Instruments for free music education,” targeted at children at risk of social exclusion in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The project aims to offer free music classes to around 40 children and young people, using music as a tool for inclusion, violence prevention and personal development.
The Council of Ministers also approved changes to the decree governing the state bachelor’s degree in nursing to update competencies and the professional profile in line with higher education regulations, which require degree reviews every 15 years. The new regulation emphasises health promotion, evidence-based practice, a person-centred model and the code of ethics. The qualification enables practice as a generalist nurse and comprises 180 credits over three academic years, including 2,300 hours of in-person clinical practice.
Finally, the Government validated the curriculum for the bachelor’s degree in communication at the Western Europe University, a non-presential three-year programme (180 ECTS) accredited by AQUA.
