Shortly before 6:30 p.m., officers intercepted a young woman riding an electric scooter and stopped her at Plaça Príncep Benlloch, placing her against the wall of Casa Guillemó while they carried out checks. The item taken turned out to be a costume-jewellery ring of low value.
Because there had been no use of force to take the piece, authorities treated the case as a penal contravention — a minor offence — rather than making an arrest. The woman will have to answer to the judicial authorities when summoned and face any penalties they decide.
